The purpose of the VP of Growth and Development is to serve as a conduit for the women of the PSD LWML to find new ways to reach the women in our congregation so that we will be representative of our diverse communities in the PSD.

What’s in your pocket?
Pockets, I think they are one of the greatest inventions. What do you put in your pockets? Before I leave the house I always check my pockets to make sure I have 3 things; my wallet, phone and keys.
The other morning when I put on my pants, I and found a wad of crumpled up dollars that had made it through the wash. In the middle of that wad (which was only $2) I found a receipt. But it did not fare as well from its encounter with the wash. When I tried to open it, to see what I had purchased, the receipt just fell apart. The part that I could open the ink was all washed off. It was now trash. It shared no secrets as to where the money in my pocket had come from.
Sometimes I feel like the pants after being washed. I feel new, clean and refreshed; I’m ready to take on the day, ready to do my job. Sometimes I feel like the dollars crumpled but useful, still ready to do my job but needing a little attention. In need of gently being put back in the place where I belong, hopefully with others just like me. Sometimes I feel like the receipt, crumpled and washed up. Making it through the wringer and feeling that all that is left for me is to be thrown in the trash.
Take heart, God knows where you are. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. No mater what you feel like, God has plans for you. You are not washed up. In God’s eyes, you are clean; your sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus. Jesus said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
May God bring you His healing, His strength, and His peace, reminding you that you are useful, because He has made you that way!
