as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”-- John 7:37b - 38
MAKE A SPLASH!
Have you ever considered what kind of an effect you have in this world, or if your efforts on behalf of God and His missions are touching anyone? Sometimes, we may feel like what we are doing doesn’t seem to make any difference. When such thoughts invade, turn to God’s encouraging Word, where He will remind you (as Paul reminded the Galatians), “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” –Galatians 6:9
Remember when it was fun to put on boots and attack the rain puddles? The water just went everywhere, and we weren’t even thinking about who might get splashed. Jumping into a pool, lake or the ocean also caused a vast amount of water spray, especially if our leap was enthusiastic. I think we are always more effective witnesses if we are enjoying God’s gifts of love, grace, and forgiveness ourselves, rather than being overly concerned with results. So, whether life is bringing you rain and puddles, or sunshine and swimming pools, don’t hesitate to make a splash – and say a prayer that God will direct those drops to those who need it most at the time.
As we begin the meditative season of Lent in February, the joy that is ours because of Jesus’ sacrificial life and death need not be suppressed. Remember, we know the rest of the story – He rose from the dead, bringing us the certain hope of eternal life and His presence with us here on earth.

Prepare for Convention
INFORMATION & REMINDERS:
Continue to pray for our mission projects -both district and LWML, and for the people working to accomplish God’s work through each of the grants. Pray for opportunities to be generous, and help others to be aware of the Mitey work being done because of donations to the humble Mite boxes.
Be in prayer -for our Host Convention Committee as they diligently strive to complete the plans for our upcoming PSD convention.
Read through all the materials about the convention – so many new activities and events – and share the information with the teens, young women and long-standing LWML’ers. Find creative ways to help fund delegates, alternates and anyone else who might want to join you. Remember to invite your pastor! If you don’t have the materials, contact your zone president or any member of the Executive Committee. We will make sure you get what you need.
Zone Presidents - remember to report your Spring Celebration information to Sue Wilson – and please be sure that all societies have received the information about convention along with other reports from our officers
Especially important:Quarterly changes must be submitted to Char Chamberlin by the March Board of Directors meeting (March 3, 2012), particularly if you plan to reduce the number of subscriptions.
